Anna and Ashley arrived in Arusha last night at midnight. Ashley commented that the plane ride was 'interesting'. Today they met their companions for the climb. There are four in Ashley's and Anna's group and six in the other. All ten of them will camp at the same site each night and have meals together.

They leave tomorrow at 9:00 A.M. for a 3 hour ride to the park. After checking in, they will ride back to the trail and have lunch before starting on the first leg of the climb.

They are ready to go!

A friend of a friend. Your site is wonderful. Your challenge is great. I'll pray for you each day and for those who love you. Take good care of each other.

How many of the people will carry food? Can you send us some pictures? What kind of animals have you seen? (Any black and white colobus monkeys?) What day will you start the midnight climb?

I am a friend of Anna's friend, Anne. Anna and I have met a couple of times at Anne's social gatherings.
I am a true fan of anyone that chooses a huge goal and actually sets out to accomplish it. (especially for such a good, worthy cause) What an adventure of a lifetime. I wish you both safety and as much comfort as possible. I can't wait to see photographs. You will both be in my prayers!

Best of luck! I'm so excited for you guys, and could not be more proud. Enjoy the journey.

Anna,

Never fear, I will try to watch all of college football (including the Tide) for you while you are trekking.

I am thinking about you and know you are going to exceed your own expectations. Continue to make us proud and stay away from the bourbon until after the summit.

Anna, you rock. I am so proud of you. I'll keep you and your dad in my thoughts and prayers. There's a tall glass of milk waiting for you in Atlanta :-)

Leave it to Borden for the smart comments! No matter what happens your guys have already achieved so much. I'm thinking of you every day and praying for a safe return. KOKO!!
PS: Colobus monkeys?, sounds like the Macnab crew did some homework!
